Why publish on Softonic?
It’s completely free, with no revenue share
Publishing on Softonic doesn’t require a subscription, and Softonic doesn’t take a cut of your revenue. You keep full control of your app and what you earn from it.
Your app isn’t locked into Softonic
Publishing on Softonic is entirely non-exclusive. You’re free to distribute your app anywhere else at the same time — Google Play, the App Store, your own website, or any other platform.
Tap into an audience that’s already searching
Softonic reaches a large audience of monthly users, many of whom arrive through organic Google search rather than a dedicated app store. A well-built listing puts your app in front of people who are already looking for software like yours.
Tools built to help you grow
- An AI description assistant that generates a professional, optimized description from a few questions about your app.
- AI-powered translation that localizes your listing into up to 17 languages in just two clicks.
- Boost Visibility campaigns, a paid option to place your app in premium spots like Top Downloads or Alternatives to.
Build credibility with the Official Distributor badge
Verified developers can earn the Official Distributor badge, which signals extra credibility to users.
See Official Distributor to learn how to qualify.
Understand how your app is performing
Once published, you can view and respond to user reviews, and track real performance data — conversion rate, downloads, and total visits, broken down by operating system, country, and version.
See Review and metrics for details.
A straightforward process from start to finish
Registering and creating a listing is free, with a simple submission flow: upload your app (up to 1GB), submit it for review, and choose automatic or manual publishing once it’s approved.

Two ways to get started
Which path applies to you depends on whether your app is already on Softonic — search for it at softonic.com before or after you register.

Claim an existing listing:
Many apps end up in Softonic’s catalog before their developer ever registers — through a distribution partnership or other catalog processes. If that’s your app, you don’t need to publish it from scratch: you claim the existing listing and take over managing it.
See How to claim ownership of an app on Softonic.
Add a new app or software title:
If your app or software isn’t on Softonic yet, you create a new listing from your dashboard, add your details, and submit it for review.

What you can do after registering
Once your account is set up and your app is claimed or published, you get:
- Manage your listing: Update descriptions, screenshots, and other available listing content.
- The ability to publish new versions and updates yourself.
- The ability to respond to reviews left by users.
- Metrics on traffic, downloads, and regions.
- The Official Distributor badge, which signals that your listing is associated with the developer or an authorized distributor.
